The route to Pico de la Concha is a classic of Malaga hiking. Starting from the Refugio de Juanar, the trail passes through olive groves and dense pine forests before entering the karst terrain of the Sierra Blanca. The final section, known as 'El Salto del Lobo', requires caution but rewards with one of the best postcards of the Mediterranean, with Gibraltar and the African coast visible on clear days.
